A field tour was held in Jaffa for students of the Master’s program in Tourism and Hotel Management, focusing on urban revitalisation and development through tourism and hospitality.
The tour began with a meeting and discussion at the Mishkenot Daniel hotel, followed by a walking tour of tourism initiatives along the light rail route on Jerusalem Boulevard—an area that exemplifies urban renewal and tourism development.
Later, students visited the newly opened Bazaar Hotel by the Fattal chain, accompanied by the hotel’s general manager on its very first day of operation. The hotel presents a new concept by the chain, aiming to blend old and new.
The next stop was the Market House Hotel, a unique boutique hotel in the vibrant heart of the market, located in a preserved Ottoman-era building atop Byzantine-era ruins, offering an especially intimate hospitality experience.
Afterward, the group visited the luxury Setai Tel Aviv hotel, which combines a fascinating historical story with a prime location between the Clock Tower and the beachfront promenade.
The tour continued with a visit to the Jaffa Flea Market, including a critical discussion about the market’s transformation into a tourist-oriented space.
The tour concluded with a visit and traditional Jaffa-style lunch on the rooftop of the Intra Hotel.
